Fabulous Fashion & Friends 2023

My Best Friend’s Closet and Rape and Abuse Crisis Center (RACC) are excited to host our annual Fabulous Fashion & Friends event on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Avalon Events Center! We can’t wait to welcome you back for this event!

Your support during this event benefits the Meredith Haugen Play Therapy Room. It was built specifically to meet the needs of our youngest clients who have been sexually abused or are experiencing domestic violence in their home. The room is home to many unique therapeutic toys. It is where counselors prepare children for court and where children feel most safe to tell their stories of abuse and violence. Most importantly, it is a place where healing begins.

Please join us on April 27, for this important fundraiser. Together we can provide the necessary education to prevent trauma and the lifelong negative impacts sexual abuse and/or violence leaves on children.

Meredith Haugen was an avid volunteer at Rape and Abuse Crisis Center. She had a degree in Child Psychology and was concerned for children experiencing domestic violence and/or sexual abuse in their homes. In her memory, Meredith’s family and friends provided funds to establish a Play Therapy Room specially designed and equipped to help traumatized children. The room includes theraputic items to help children:
– Prepare to testify in court
– Develop ways to express their traumatic experiences
– Find ways to cope with stress and anxiety
– Begin to heal
