Sexual Assault/Abuse

Services are available to all who are affected by sexual assault, rape, sexual abuse, and child sexual abuse. If you are in immediate danger or concerned for your safety, please call 911 or our 24-hour crisis line at (701) 293-7273 or (800) 344-7273.

The Rape and Abuse Crisis Center is an active member of the Red River Sexual Assault Response Team (RRSART) (link to manual). This team is made up of law enforcement, health professionals, and the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center. This team approach allows for more victim-centered care. In the case of a sexual assault, the RRSART is put into action whether the victim first contacts the medical facility, law enforcement, or the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center.

The Rape and Abuse Crisis Center collaborates with the Red River Children's Advocacy Center (RRCAC) to provide an on-site Family Advocate.  The Family Advocate is a participant of the RRCAC Multi-Disciplinary Team to provide advocacy to children receiving forensic interviews and/or forensic exams and their non-offending care provider. Counseling through the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center is available to the affected child and his/her family and caregivers.

If you are not in immediate danger and would like to visit with an advocate and/or make a counseling appointment, please call (701) 293-7273 or (800) 344-7273. Walk-in assistance is available as well at our main office (317 Eight Street N. in Fargo).
