Christopher Johnson, PhD, MSW

Christopher Johnson, PhD, MSW has been the chief executive officer of the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center since January 2014. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Minnesota State University Moorhead, a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota and a Doctor of Philosophy in education with a focus on institutional analysis from North Dakota State University. Prior to taking the helm at RACC, he held multiple direct practice and administrative roles focusing on case management, group facilitation, program evaluation/development and organizational leadership within various human service organizations. Johnson has devoted time to teaching undergraduate courses, presenting to various stakeholder groups and serving on multiple committees focused on promoting safe and healthy communities. He has extensive experience providing and evaluating trauma-informed programming with at-risk and homeless youth and currently serves on the board of directors of Council on Abused Women’s Services of North Dakota (CAWSND) and is the chair of the North Dakota Task Force on the Prevention of Sexual Abuse of Children. Chris lives in Fargo with his wife, Ashley, and their children, Alexandra and Carter.
