About Us

The Rape and Abuse Crisis Center of Fargo-Moorhead (RACC) provides crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and education to male and female, child, adolescent, adult and elder victims of domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and human trafficking/sexual exploitation.  All victim services are free and confidential and distributed on a nondiscriminatory basis. In addition to direct services to victims and families, the organization seeks to educate and inform the community on the prevalence of sexual and domestic violence in the area, the impact it has, and what can be done to make the community a safe place to work, play and live.

Throughout its 40 year history, RACC has been dedicated to its mission and has proudly served over 80,000 victims. In 2016, the 43 member staff served 3,145 victims, including 612 children, with the assistance of over 298 volunteers. Services provided include crisis intervention and sexual assault exam support to 115 victims in area emergency rooms and in receiving 91 emergency Orders for Protection. Staff reviewed 1396 domestic and sexual violence law enforcement incident reports, and 920 victims from those reports were contacted to provide support and information on services available. In addition to direct service, the education team gave 753 prevention/ education presentations reaching 17,044 community members.
